Custom Sign Portfolio

We can make signs for your business!  Here are some samples of signs we've built.  Each one explores different techniques -

STEEL AND ALUMINUM

This sign, for the local Yoga studio here in Tonasket, is a multilayer metal assemblage.  It's two sided, with patina'd steel sheets that sandwich an aluminum core.  It'll only get more interesting in time, as the steel continues to oxidize.  It looks great, crisp and clean.  This technique is quick to build, and durable, as there's no paint to peel or vinyl to fade.

STEEL LETTERS OVER WOOD

This sign, for the local school garden was a collaboration with a woodworker.  We cut the letters to match the curvature of the board, which looks really trick.  The letters are connected with an underscore, so there are a minimum of fasteners and fuss.  The letters are spaced out slightly from the wood, to prevent staining as the metal oxidizes. This technique is quick to build, and durable, as there's no paint to peel or vinyl to fade.

BRASS OVER STEEL

This sign, for Alaffia's front desk, explores another technique.  Using copper rivets, we can affix brass to a steel substrate for a striking sign.  The natural materials will age together, getting more and more interesting.

EMBEDDED LEDS

This technique makes very fun signs - the panel shown here is part of the facade for Sugarburg, a bar in Brooklyn.  It could be carried further - if we embedded several different patterns, they could flash in sequence, for example.  Basically we cnc cut holes in the pattern, and then glue in LEDs from the back, so they're nearly invisible when off.
